About Standing in Parallel
Main Purpose.
Standing in Parallel is a developing nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young people of color as they navigate emotional and opportunity barriers. Our mission is to stand beside youth ages 7 to 22 as they heal, grow, and build empowered futures through access to mental health resources, mentorship, and social justice education.

We envision a world where youth of color are mentally healthy, empowered, and supported in communities free from social injustice — becoming leaders who transform their lives and the world around them.
We aim to dismantle systemic inequities and foster a future where every young person can thrive.
Our Roots.
Founded in Seattle, Washington, and inspired by the lived experiences of its founder, Standing in Parallel was created to break generational cycles of silence, shame, and disconnection in communities of color. We recognize that mental health and social justice are deeply intertwined and that addressing one means confronting the other.
At Standing in Parallel, we don’t lead from above -we stand in parallel. We are a movement of healing in real time, led by people walking by faith and grounded in the same journey they serve.
We envision a world where young people of color thrive in safe, supportive communities, empowered to lead, heal, and create lasting change.
