Healing Spaces

Healing Spaces is designed to prioritize mental and emotional wellbeing through different forms of therapy access, group sessions, and guided journaling. Led by trusted community members—such as peer supporters, mentors, educators, and creative and wellness facilitators—this program creates consistent, safe spaces where youth can process their emotions and build healthy ways to navigate life’s challenges. Peer-based sessions will also be offered periodically, allowing psychology students and youth mentors to gain hands-on experience supporting others in a supervised, professional environment.

Each Healing Space is welcoming and family-oriented. We aim to combine structure, reflection, and a sense of belonging. Children are encouraged to set personal goals, share their stories, and connect with others walking similar journeys. Over time, the program will operate across schools, community centers, and virtual platforms, with the long-term goal of establishing a dedicated Standing in Parallel headquarters for holistic healing and youth empowerment.

To create culturally grounded environments where young people of color can explore emotional wellness, receive professional support, and grow through community-centered healing.

Partnership Vision

In the future, Standing in Parallel aims to partner with Black and Brown clinicians, community wellness organizations, and culturally responsive therapy networks. These collaborations will ensure that the youth we serve are supported by professionals who understand their lived experiences — bridging gaps in representation and accessibility within the mental health field.

While we do not provide therapy or clinical treatment, we are committed to building partnerships with trusted organizations and licensed professionals to connect youth and families with mental health resources as our work grows.
